Dance classes for tap shoes are frequently required, while jazz classes require jazz shoes, for example. Ballet classes, for example, frequently necessitate the use of pointe shoes or traditional ballet slippers. In most dance classes, the dancer must wear special footwear to ensure that he or she can move safely and with precision. Layering is also required for classes that demand more physical effort a lightweight long-sleeved shirt or sweatshirt will keep your dancer warm and loose. Synthetic garments can be thoroughly cleaned and scented with WIN Detergent Sport, which makes them feel clean and fresh after use.ĭance classes require loose-fitting, breathable clothing such as leggings, shorts, and tank tops because they allow your dancer to move freely while remaining comfortable and cool. Make sure the detergent you use is appropriate for the clothes you intend to clean. Make arrangements with your dance studio to request appropriate footwear for the class. If you prefer a little more coverage, add athletic shorts or a dance skirt to your ensemble. Tight clothes, such as leotards and tights, may not be comfortable for some people. You will need at least a couple of quality tights or leggings if you want to participate in an active, athletic type of dance. Finally, dress in layers in case the temperature changes throughout the class.ĭance moves should result in tighter, more stretchy clothing as the dance becomes more dynamic and athletic. If you plan to dance barefoot, make sure that the floor is clean and free of any debris. Additionally, make sure to wear appropriate footwear sneakers or jazz shoes are ideal for most dance classes. Avoid wearing baggy clothing that could restrict your movement. Choose lightweight and flexible fabrics, such as cotton or lycra, for your top and bottom. When attending a dance class, it’s important to wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely. If you prefer gowns, you can mix and match by selecting a dress with a geometric print or ruffled hem.Ī hat, a tuxedo or evening gown, too much perfume, bright fluros, loud jewelry, tight or short clothing, and excessive noise should be avoided as a member of the audience at a dance or ballet recital. The long-term physiologic effects after allo-BMT include nonmalignant organ or tissue dysfunction changes in quality of life infections related to delayed, or abnormal, immune reconstitution and secondary cancers. Although long-term allo-BMT survivors generally enjoy good health, for many others cure or control of the underlying disease is not accompanied by full restoration of health. At present, immediate survival is no longer the sole concern after allo-BMT, because many patients can survive the acute complications of the procedure and remain free of their original disease for several years. Men may choose to freeze and store their sperm for future use.Allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (allo-BMT) or stem cell transplantation has the potential to cure a significant proportion of patients with otherwise fatal diseases. Women may choose to freeze and store fertilized eggs (embryos) to be implanted after the transplant and recovery. They can also provide information about ways you can preserve your fertility. They can suggest ways to help women cope with symptoms of menopause. Talk to your healthcare team about fertility problems. Hormone replacement therapy may be given for gonadal dysfunction. Men and women may regain gonadal functioning and fertility, but gonadal dysfunction may become permanent and cause infertility. Most women who have a stem cell transplant will experience treatment-induced menopause. Children treated before puberty have fewer problems with reproductive organ function and fertility. When the reproductive organs (gonads) stop working, it is called gonadal dysfunction.Ĭhildren receiving treatment, especially those close to or during puberty, have the greatest chance of having long-term or permanent gonadal dysfunction, called gonadal failure. Doctors may also prescribe a colony-stimulating factor (CSF) such as filgrastim (Neupogen) following a stem cell transplant to help lower the risk of infection and speed up the process of making new blood cells.įertility problems can happen because of chemotherapy or radiation therapy given before a stem cell transplant. Even if there is no sign of infection, most people are given medicines to prevent infection until their white blood cell counts start to rise. The risk of late infection depends on how quickly your immune system recovers, whether you have GVHD and if you are taking medicines to suppress your immune system.įever is often the first sign of infection. Infection can also happen a long time after a stem cell transplant. The risk is highest after an allogeneic transplant because you may be taking medicines to suppress the immune system to prevent graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). The risk of infection for all types of transplant is high until the bone marrow starts to make white blood cells. Viral or fungal infections can also happen. It happens because the white blood cell count is very low and the immune system is weak. Infection is one of the most common early side effects of a stem cell transplant. Other side effects are related to the stem cell transplant. Many common side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, fatigue and temporary hair loss, are from the chemotherapy or radiation therapy given before the transplant. But it’s hard to say exactly which side effects a child will have, how long they will last and when the child will recover. They will take measures to prevent side effects and will quickly deal with any side effects that develop.Ĭhildren usually have less severe side effects than adults and will often recover from them faster. Long-term (chronic) side effects generally develop 100 or more days after the transplant. Short-term (acute) side effects generally develop during the first 100 days after a stem cell transplant. Side effects can happen any time during, immediately after or days to months after a stem cell transplant. Side effects can happen with any type of treatment, but everyone’s experience is different. Once the meteor falls, a giant UFO usually follows. At first, our pilots will blast away at a gigantic meteor. Prioritizing the collection of power-ups will greatly improve the team’s chances of survival.Ĭertain levels culminate in a boss battle. Double Shot fires much more rapidly than the standard pea shooter, Plasma fires a continuous beam, Shield provides invincibility for a time, Nuke clears the screen of threats, and you can find extra lives as well. They fall from the sky fairly regularly and offer brief advantages upon collection. The default gun fires quite slowly, just as ships typically did in early 1980s shoot ‘em ups. Much of Astrosmash’s challenge comes from the limitations of the primary weapon. Should the meteor/enemy hit the ground instead, the team’s score decreases slightly, which is no big deal. If a meteor or enemy hits a player, the team loses a life because lives are shared. A few different types of UFO foes appear in certain levels as well. Shooting larger meteors will split them into smaller ones, Asteroids-style. During each level, meteors continually fall from the top of the screen. Players can move left and right, fire, and use a speed boost (dash) that grants brief invincibility. The campaign consists of ten levels that last about four minutes each (though they feel much longer). Campaign and Multiplayer both support 4-player local co-op, and Multiplayer also supports online co-op. The remake isn’t very ambitious, but it does seem to faithfully capture the gameplay of the original.Īstrosmash offers three modes: Campaign, Versus, and Multiplayer. This year, BBG Entertainment, makers of Dynablaster, unleashed its own Astrosmash remake onto consoles and PC. It combined gameplay elements from Space Invaders and Asteroids, and was apparently well-liked by Intellivision players. One such game was 1981's Astrosmash for the Intellivision console. In the early 1980s, it was not uncommon to find console games that were heavily inspired by arcade games of the time. And comedian Anthony Anderson stars in a spoof of Jerry Seinfeld's “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” called “ Carpooling with Cool People Eating Wings.” Anderson picks up folks like, say, Real Housewives Dallas’ Stephanie Hollman and implores them to eat wings while they drive around in an American sports car and quickly run out of things to talk about. There have been subtle ad campaigns, like sponsoring gamers to eat wings on Twitch while playing video games. Rather than spend extra money trying to attract roaming Wi-Fi hoarders, they’ve doubled down on technology that’ll get you in and out efficiently, like the “Wingbot,” which you can use over Facebook Messenger, Twitter, text, or Alexa to order wings. But that speaks to what they’re doing right. Everything is handed to you in a brown paper bag. Employees don’t bother to ask whether you’re going to take the food to go or eat it there. During three separate visits, not a single person (except for me) ever took their wings and sat and enjoyed them in the Wingstop restaurant space. And as long as you can make a deal of it with that All-In Bundle, I recommend getting these on your regular rotation for takeout. As the dominant force in the fast-casual wing game, Wingstop knows its audience better than most. Wingstop’s Atomic Wings are certainly formidable and they deliver the heat along with good taste. It’s perfect on wings, tacos, or even as a dipping sauce. This sauce is a spicy mayo-based sauce with a delicious blend of garlic and cayenne pepper. The Atomic Sauce is their signature sauce that has become an icon in its own right. How hot are Wingstop’s Atomic-flavored wings? Well, they are made with Habanero peppers which scores 200,000 to 350,0900 Scoville Heat Units. What is the hottest hot wing in the world?. But the Mac version is less capable than even Apple's built-in font manager. That said, the Windows and Linux versions might be useful. Sorry to be so negative, but FontBase just seems to duplicate what's already been done. I can't imagine why the developer thinks we need another one, or what he imagines he can offer that others don't. On Mac, FontBase is a high performance free alternative for big paid font managers, with the same level of quality. Font Book flags duplicate fonts and enables you to choose which copy you want to remove. The font list and the preview window are available side-by-side. With the exception of a few galaxies near to ours, such as the Clouds of Magellan, which are gravitationally bound, virtually all galaxies are receding from us and their light is redshifted (its wavelength has been increased) by a factor which astronomers and cosmologists call z. Edwin Hubble later interpreted this as being due to their receding from us, with speeds that increase with distance from us. Vesto Slipher observed in 1917 that the spectra of many of the distant objects in the universe are red-shifted. Chris points out that most of the doppler shifts are much more asymmetrical than the one shown here, meaning that the orbits are usually highly elliptical. Most of the planets thus discovered are 'hot Jupiters': giant planets (big enough to move their star measurably) orbiting close to their star (which makes the effect both stronger and faster). Although the planet's year is comparable with that of the earth, its mass is very much greater: for the moment, planets as small as ours have not been detected using this technique. However, we have made it visible in our animation. Unlike the star, which shines, the planet is not visible: it is too far away to be seen in reflected light. The motion of this star is due to the gravitational effect of a planet orbiting the star. In the animation (not to scale, of course) the red and blue shifts are indicated by red and blue waves. It shows that the velocity of the star epsilon Reticuli has a component towards us that varies with a period of 439 earth days and a magnitude of about 40 m.s −1. The graph below was provided by Chris Tinney, who hunts exoplanets. In some but by no means all cases, the simple Doppler effect explains the shift. Objects moving towards us (much rarer in astronomy) have spectra that are blue shifted. Hunting exoplanets with the Doppler effectīlue light has shorter wavelength (higher frequency) than red, so all features in the optical spectra of objects moving away from us are shifted towards the red end (a red shift). However, frequency is one of the quantities that can be measured with very high precision, so the radar guns used by highway patrols (picture at right) are commonly capable of measuring frequency shifts of less than 1 part in 10 8, and so can accurately measure the speed of vehicles travelling at a few tens of m.s −1. Consequently, the proportional changes in frequency and wavelength are very small for ordinary speeds v s and v o. Where v is the velocity of the wave, v s is the velocity of the source, v o that of the observer, and where v s and v o are taken as positive for approaching and negative for receding.įor electromagnetic radiation, v = c is the speed of light, which is about 3 x 10 8 m.s −1. Simply put, conceptual unity has to do with content elements, while visual unity relates to design elements (i.e. Return to Table of Contents Conceptual unity vs. You could say this infographic achieves both conceptual and visual unity… How? It doesn’t come with strict rules or defined guidelines. For the larger gaps, 1.) Apply painter’s tape on both sides of the void to 2.) keep the caulk off the window and give you a crisp, clean edge. Time to fill in the cracks! Caulk all the seams. Then scrape any excess glue off the glass with a razor blade. Wait 24 hours for the glue to harden and dry. Use painter’s tape to hold them in place. Center and press the grilles onto the glass. Spread a bead of Loctite Outdoor Adhesive onto the backs of both the vertical and horizontal bars. Lightly sand and paint them the same color as your garage doors.Īfter the paint is dry, clean the glass with windex and then use rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt and debris from the glass. If your measurements are off, no worries, 1/2″ gaps can be filled with caulk.Īfter cutting all of the cross pieces, clean them off. Next, cut off the excess so you are left with two crosses that fit perfectly in the window panes of your garage door. First, cut the grille into two pieces as shown below: Start by cutting the grilles down to size. This is how I got two crosses from each grille. For $8, some paint and glue I was able to transform my garage doors from boring bland to cottage charm!Īnd here is the tutorial for how to add grilles to plain jane garage door windows! I carefully measured the panes on the garage then found a set of four grilles that would give me two cross pieces per window! Perfect! And the best part about those grilles is that they only cost $2 a piece. That was when the “A-ha” moment happened and I figured that I could use them to dress up my garage doors. You know, the cheap ones that are pressed up against the window and always fall out. I wasn’t exactly sure how I was going to add the grilles (cross pieces in the windows.) I thought about cutting up paint sticks or just plain strips of square dowels cut to fit, but I REALLY wanted them to look as real as possible and I liked the router profile of the real deal.Ī few months later I literally almost tripped on a stack of donated window grilles at my local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I fell in love immediately and the hulking gray doors’ fate had been sealed. I even created a paint preview to see what it would look like. In this mulling over period I dreamt of painting the garage doors and boosting the character factor by adding grilles to the windows. I always thought they could be a little more polished and more inviting. They are the two giant doormen that greet me at least five times a day as I run errands and taxi my children to and from school. You can have the grid intersection only at the top or in all 4 corners. You know that thing about your house that you really want to change, but it takes you a while to mull over how to change it? Well, that thing for me was our garage doors. Perimeter grids offer an even broader choice of patterns because you can specify a perimeter on each window, on just a sash or a perimeter across an array of windows and/or doors. Perimeter Grids – For an attractive contemporary look, consider Perimeter grids which provide an outline on the perimeter of the glass with the grid intersecting in the corners. Like Standard grids, you can specify the number of lites across and the height. Valance Grids – Valance grids are similar to the Standard grids but are only across the top of the window or door. You can also specify the number of lites across and up/down, depending on the size of the glass. Standard grids can be used on the whole window or door, just on the top sash. Standard Grids – also known as Colonial grids, these are the popular squares that work well in traditional or contemporary styles. Grids come in Standard, Valance and Perimeter styles in a seemingly endless array of combinations. Also told me the $321 for 6 sessions per month was a discount and that I was getting hooked up. I'm so confused because the person signing me up gave me 12 free sessions which is the max amount, even told me they'd give me 99 free if they could, then showed me the computer system only allows 12 max. Hell I've even seen them do it to clients while the clients are right nearby. Theres all of that and the strong, reasonable vibe I get that they've been clearly and nonchalantly making fun of me and talking shit about me even when I'm there. I was also told that all my training sessions get rolled over to the next month ad infinitum, but now looking at the contract it says they expire in 30 days! WTF SON.Īnd what the fuck is up with this Krebs Cycle bullshit they threw at me to convince me they knew better about training methods than anybody else. They completely failed to mention the 3 day cancellation policy, or the apparent 7 day hidden cancellation policy I found online. Even told me typical sessions would be 30 min training and 30 min cardio when signing me up. The PT Manager clearly failed to mention that in its entirety. Then theres the fact that I thought I signed up for 1 hour sessions, but I'm only getting 25 minute sessions. Text the trainer and get told they have no idea what I'm talking about, then all of a sudden being told that oh ok they dont work Mondays (even though they agreed to the scheduling beforehand). Tonight, the night before the training session, the app shows the session is reschedule to another day. I have texts showing the trainer agreeing to a certain day (Monday) for training, even talked with the trainer about them not being too hungover on Monday. But after 2 sessions the trainer I've been working with is now bullshitting me about scheduling. I figured fuck it things must be different.ġ5 days ago I very kindly got reeled into a personal training contract for 11 months, $321 per month, 6 sessions per month, 25 min sessions.
